The Light Between Oceans

Two themes stand out -- the desire to have and to raise a baby, and the damages that lying does. I was fascinated by the various characters and found it compelling with an overlaying sadness.

I remembered it being romantic from my reading of decades ago, but this time I found it insightful regarding human decisions and the U.S. economy of the1920s. I don\\\'t consider it romantic now but a great study of human behavior.
