If this book doesn't move you, touch you, and make you think....nothing will. I cried, I was sad, I laughed, I was inspired, and also disgusted and angry. Having lived during those times, but in PA, I actually recognized some of prejudices that I saw in others then. I was a child, but I remember being so upset that people would judge one another by the color of their skin.

I just loved Minny and Aibileen, and was cheering on Skeeter the whole way through the book. At the end I wanted to raise my fist and say' YES!!'.
The chocolate pie storyline was funny and just perfect.
This is such a well written book that draws you in with each page. Emotions run rampant as you turn the pages, from high to low. I stayed up late reading for three nights in a row and I'm exhausted, yet it was worth it.
I truly hope that maids everywhere were able to 'get even' in some way, to keep their self esteem and realize their self worth.
Can't wait to discuss this one with my real life Book Club!
