Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia by Elizabeth Gilbert
Boring, Inspiring, Slow
A book that is difficult to relate to because the author makes herself sound so unique.I enjoyed Italy, but that was only because of the wonderful (and sometimes witty) descriptions of the places she visited and the people she met. Almost our entire club found India painful to read through because of the incessant whining and complaining. By the time I stumbled upon Indonesia I found myself simply scanning pages in order to finish. Gilbert's sometimes lengthy metaphors and comparisons got old, and by skipping most of it I think the book could have been about half as long.
