My Reviews
I found this book absorbing and very interesting. I felt that it showed that our lives can change as we develop as a person. Although I could never make a life journey like this, I found it very interesting. It has been great to listen to the author being interviewed and that helped me relate to her book even more
I was repelled by the premise of this book. I simply could not believe that a monther's mind was so twisted that altough she did have money to help her family, she chose not to and concentrated only on her own "art". I shuddered to think that a father would put him daughter in a scarey situation with a group of men and "trust her to handle it." How many young girls would have been able to save themselves? While I hope and pray that my daughters and grand daughters have a good and safe life, my blood curdles that what Glass's family went through.I am proud of Glass that she came through.
I see she has written a new book, I believe based on her family background. Will this situation bring more about a dysfunctional family?
Interesting book with great characters. We need to be reminded of the love that people extend to others, even when they themselves are being ill treated. Just a great story that provokes good discussion.
