The historical background was fascinating, and the insights into Mr. Wright - if accurate - were interesting. However, I couldn't find sympathy for either main character. He was pompous though brilliant, and uncaring about the workers who brought his plans to fruition. She was shallow and selfish, and nothing she shared could explain her deserting her children. In spite of that, the story was worth reading.
