The Help is a beautifully balanced look at all sides of the internal conflict imposed on people by cultural predjudice and personal arrogance. The author does a marvelous job of developing characters' personalities through her expert use of dialect and dialog. The reader feels personally acquainted with the main characters by the end of the book and one can not help but be challenged to examine one's own attitudes on race, class and justice. I give The Help my greatest compliment--I was enriched by its reading.
