Informative, Dramatic, Interesting

Beautiful Historical Fiction

I absolutely loved this book. Even though it's fiction it's a poignant look on the role of women in China. It was well written. When I lend this one to friends, I request that it's returned as soon as they're finished. I would never want to part with my copy.

If you've seen Terms of Endearment, Beaches, and Steel Magnolias, don't read this book. How many times can these writers beat to death the best friend theme of strong friend, weak friend, etc.
