What an utter disappointment. Rarely does a work start with such an interesting perspective and storyline that somewhere along the way loses direction and ultimately peeters out (before the 'big finish'). It seems the author was looking for a operatic ending to this drawn out saga as the hero returns to reclaim his past. I was left with mouth agape at how a serious novel could degenerate into a children's fairlytale. Each turn of the page becomes an exercise in repressing a gag reflex.

Number one overated work in last few years.
