This insider's view of a maid's life in Jackson, MS in 1962 was very informative, entertaining and at times aggravating. You can feel the tension between the maids and the employers. You will cheer for Minny, Aibileen and Skeeter to succeed in their mission to expose the employers for all the mean, hateful and ignorant things they have said or done. There is hope that things will change for the better. The characters are very real and believeable. Once you start reading you won't be able to put it down.
