Although I don't read many biographies, this was a definite MUST! Hillenbrand finds the most captivating stories, and Louis Zamperini's life is no exception. From his early days as a hooligan, to his training days for the Olympics onto his service for WWII, Zamp's life is a whirlwind of challenge and survival. I found myself appreciating the Best Generation even more for their service, dedication and love of our country. To endure so much and come out smiling says a lot and the reflection back helps us younger generation have an idea what a War of that magnitude was like. For any lover of sports, read it. For any lover of the history of war, read it. For any lover of survivial, read it. For any lover of resilience, read it. Basically read it. You will come out with so much more than you started that you can't be disappointed.
