This unusual viewpoint takes some time to understand and appreciate. I didn't like it until I had read quite a few pages. As a mother and grandmother, I was distressed at the situation that Jack is in. But reading further, I was taken captive by the creativeness of the mother and the limited environment of Jack. Then, I couldn't put it down. What courage, persistence and sacrifice the mother shows. A must read! A situation we've all read about in our daily newspapers and been shocked that it exists beside us!
