This book really gives you a glimpse into a darker world that is very real, but not often spoken of by those who live it or acknowledged by those who don't. This was a very fast read and held my interest the whole way. This book shines a light on the fact that some people are born into hopelessness and how incredibly difficult it is to rise up out of it. It's also a fine example of how relatively small acts of kindness and believing in someone can change the trajectory of lives and can be true gifts to mankind.
