This book was awesome. I learned about a part of history that I never knew about before, which led me to do more research on the topic. The chapters by Sarah are very haunting and you really feel her emotions as a young girl, confused and desperate. I could not wait to find out what would happen or how the two women lives were intertwined. I also saw the movie after reading the book, but I didn't think it was so great. It had a lot of potential, but I did not feel connected to the actors in the movie the way I did to the characters in the book. The actors seemed kind of cold. Skip the movie, but read the book for sure.
