I had to read it, it's all anyone is discussing. However, the hype - what the hell is wrong with people? It is horribly written. I'm not sure how much research the author did into BDSM but I would like to point out that it's caning. Not canning like veggies.
I guess read it if it gets your rocks off but if you're looking for something good; take a pass.
