I don't normally read WWII books, but this one did provide a fascinating, if not disturbing, revelation of the POW experience. It was also illuminating about the Western theatre and the involvement with the Japanese during the War years. Never having heard of Louie Zamperini, I was amazed at this man's life story. This humanistic view is the way history should be told.
