In The World Without You, Henkin illustrates the subtle rifts between family members so deftly, it's as though he's writing about people he knows personally. I loved the flashbacks, the sweet sadness of the family's reunion, and the sense of finality that accompanies nearly every moment in the Frankel summer home. Nostalgia is captured in this novel.
