Henkin has redemptive insight. This isn't a Lord of the Rings epic with trumpets blaring and fireworks erupting (the cover is a little symbolically misleading, ok, I know it takes place on July 4th -- or perhaps it's perfectly ironic because) it's a quiet and persuasive move of the needle, solid, patient, needed. Fireworks fizzle, this book stays with you, becoming part of the soft white noise you need to think clearly through life. Be warned though! You'll want to spend more time with the characters and the book does end.
