The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Dramatic, Insightful, Beautiful
A story of a little orphan girl who falls in love with words during the Nazi occupation.

My book club loved this book. I will keep it on my shelf to re-read and for my family and friends who visit.

The devil is th narrator who tells of our little orphaned girl, her brother, and what happens as she adjusts to a new life with her adopted family.

She meets wonderful friends and some enemies, while learning how to read and the value of words and the horror of watching the Nazi's burn books.

The relationships that evolve are well-developed, the story always completes each cycle. Beautifully written.
