I found the writing simplistic in nature. I liked the multiple levels of character development interesting. I enjoyed seeing Tin Win open himself up to a beautiful life and love with Mi Mi. I wondered why he did not follow his heart and go back to Mi Mi sooner. I thought he betrayed his family in the US and Mi Mi his family in Burma and himself.
