While I learned how law enforcement/military was mobilized in 1865, I found the writing uninspiring. I'm sure that the author had reems of material to digest, but I thought he frequently put himself in the killer's place and presumed to describe what JW Booth was thinking. We, however, had a lively book discussion and many found it interesting.

Our book club was mixed about this book - split between a rating of 4 out of 5 and 2 out of 5. it was a highly infomative book and we felt we also learned a bit of the historiacl nature of the times.
