This book will grip you from the very beginning and won't let go.

Although the majority of our club would have never chosen this book to read we were glad to have the opportunity to do so. It was very well written and not only full of suspense but it also had an unusual way of causing the reader to sympathize with characters other than the Clutter family. Now we want to watch the movie "Capote" to see how this affected his life.
We voted to give this book 3.5 stars. ( I rounded up above)

This book, while informative, was not the "classic" I hoped it would be. The story moves along incredibly slowly and the author gets exhaustively bogged down with details.

Detailed page turner. Terrific writing. Will generate much discussion. Capote movie is good to watch after the book but lacks the rich detail that the book offers. Highly recommend.

A breakthrough non-fiction novel. Capote used a new and inventive process in telling this gruesome tale of murder. even though we new the outcome the writing draws in and holds your attention to the very last page.
