This work wasn't for me. But, I can see where peering into the twisted interior of a mentally disturbed person would be intriguing for some. In that respect, this book keeps you guessing and wondering. It is probably a bit too close to the truth on some aspects of human interaction, which may be why it was hard to take in. A strange family story that takes place between the two World Wars in a Wisconsin setting. I found the theme to be somewhat confusing. A very dark, gloomy story.
