It unanimous, Every one in our corporate book club agreed they enjoyed this story. Collins has done a great job keeping the reader intrigued and engaged. The "what's next" element kept me and my bookclub reading until the end, and left us wanting more. Not the most challenging book, but definately entertaining! Thank you
This is a must read!!! Read the hunger games, and you will be hooked. Read Catching fire and now I cannot wait for the third book to come out!! I just wanted to keep reading. I highly recommend this book.
After reading The Hunger Games, I didn't think there could be a better book. Boy was I wrong! Catching Fire is even better! The author drops a bombshell at the end of each chapter, so you just have to keep reading. After awhile I had to cover up the last sentence of each chapter because I knew my eyes would drift that way to see what tragedy would strike next. What a great read!
While I thought The Hunger Games was pretty good, I found this book impossible to put down and read it in a single night! Powerful action and a large dangling carrot at the end of each chapter make this book unforgettable.
Wonderful book and very quick read. I just had to read Mockingjay to see how it all ends. I loved all three books!
The Hunger Games as a whole is a great read. Good for bookclubs. However, I think you need to read all three to understand the scope of the book.
I thought the idea of another game would be tedious. I was wrong. You get to know the characters even better in this book.
You need to have read the the whole series. I really enjoyed it! Exciting and suspenseful
Fabulous part 2....couldn't put these books down!
I think this one was better than the first. I could not put it down and read it in about 10 hours over 2 days. Addictive adventure and fantastic writing. Just read it.
I still liked it but it was a bit slow. Was a bit confusing. In the end you find out some things that I think you were supposed to have had clues for but I didn't seem to catch on to them. Looking forward to reading Mockingjay.
Characters definately need developed more thoroughly. The main character seems to be very wishy washy and as soon as I think I understand her she turns into something else. A bit of a disappointment after the first book.
This is the second book in The Hunger Games series. It was as engaging as the first, with many twists and turns. The author raises questions, leads you down many different paths and "what if's". The ending leaves you salivating for the next book "Mockingjay".
Read through this one just as quickly as the first and found it just as addictive. It does leave you at the end wanting to jump right into the third book to learn the resolution.
Couldnt wait to get this book and couldnt wait to get the 3rd book.
After I got over the initial shock of the premise behind "The Hunger Games" I was intrigued to learn where this book was going to lead me. Ms. Collins interpretation of the reality game theater was very clever and could almost be considered a character because of the suspense it generates for the reader.
Something about the book -- perhaps the maturity in Ms. Collins' writing style, or that the young adult characters have matured, or I could even speculate it was because I was no longer naive about the premise of the "Hunger Games" made this book more enjoyable to read than the first.
This was an excellent sequel to the Hunger Games. The book club loved the book and can't wait to read the next one. It was a book we couldn't put down. Again the topic was bizarre but very addicting to read. Loved the character Peeta and Katniss.
I just couldn't put it down it was a great sequel filled with drama, love, and heartache. You feel what Katniss feels and you get to watch her fall in love in this dark and horrific game she is thrust into once again..
I am officially hooked on the trilogy. I will probably finish all three books within the span of one week.
But when I had to, I picked this up and was not disappointed!
As soon as I had finished reading 'Hunger Games' I had to start this one. It's just as addictive as the first! I couldn't stop reading.
Although I didn't think this book was as good as Hunger Games, I enjoyed the continuation of the story line. Can't wait to read the final book Mockingay.
Quick read. Hopefully this is a "linking" book in the series, otherwise, why bother?
Wonderful, love how katniss grows a new appreciation for peeta. Also how did she not know things would change??
