As you may know, Brad Pitt is not only an Oscar-winning actor, but he’s also a pretty tremendous movie producer as well. His production company, Plan B Entertainment has produced movies such as Moonlight, the adaptation of 12 Years a Slave, If Beale Street Could Talk, and The Big Short. He has some really interesting projects coming to the big screen–and streaming–among them several Top Book Club Picks.
I always find it fascinating to see which books captured Hollywood’s imagination–especially if the movies they make are so damn good.
Lets’ start with the movies that we’ll see soonest:

Peace Like a River
Peace Like a River was a 2001 Time & Christian Science Monitor Best Book of the Year and a book club favorite. It tells the story of an eleven-year-old boy who, along with his sister and father, embark on a cross-country quest to find his outlaw brother. “Their journey unfolds like a revelation, and its conclusion shows how family, love, and faith can stand up to the most terrifying of enemies, and the most tragic of fates.” (book description)
