Amazon is developing an hour-long drama series based on Amy Stewart’s novel, Girl Waits with Gun. The series is inspired by the true story of Constance Kopp who, years before women had the right to vote, own property or even wear pants, became the first female sheriff in the United States in 1914.
Veep writers Jennifer Crittenden and Gabrielle Allan will adapt the novel for the drama series and serve as executive producers as well as Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman’s Brownstone Productions, Warner Bros. TV and Amazon Studios.
