The name babka comes from the Polish baba, which means married peasant woman, and it’s a staple in our markets and our homes. Rich chocolate or cinnamon ribbons threaded through a tender crumb makes for an elegant, delicious take on comfort food.
A fantastic breakfast, snack, or dessert, and even better with a cup of steaming coffee. A loaf makes a thoughtful host(ess) gift. If there are any leftovers (we usually devour the whole loaf), make decadent French toast or bread pudding.
