Introduction

(MOONSTONE A Fictionwise Fantasy bestseller Young Adult A sickly mom. A tiny house trailer. High school bullies and snarky drama queens. Bad-guy dudes with charming smiles. Allie has problems. And then there's that whole thing about fulfilling a magical prophecy and saving the world from evil. Geez. Welcome to the sad, funny, sometimes-scary world of fifteen-year-old Allie Emerson, who's struggling to keep her and her mom's act together in the small-town world of Peacock Flats, Washington. An electrical zap from a TV antenna sets off Allie's weird psychic powers. The next thing she knows she's being visited by a hippy-dippy guardian angel, and then her mysterious neighbor, the town "witch," gives her an incredible moonstone pendant that has powers only a good-hearted "Star Seeker" is meant to command. "Who, me?" is Allie's first reaction. But as sinister events begin to unfold, Allie realizes she's got a destiny to live up to. If she can just survive everyday life, in the meantime. Marilee Brothers is a former high school teacher turned full-time author. She's married to her college sweetheart, and they have three sons. Marilee lives in Washington State, where she's hard at work on more books in the Moonstone series. You can visit her website at www.marileebrothers.com. Wendy's Minding Spot ?Filled with emotion, made more so for the reader as we watch this well-balanced young woman cope with a very unbalanced life. SciFiGuy.caet Must captures you and she knows how to write a great story. The pace of the book was just rig This is another [see her review for Bite Me] good choice for public library teen/fantasy collections - I look forward to the next title in this series. ? Simone Sidwell, Teen Librarian, Grinnell Stewart Public Library GreenBeanTeenQueen Says: With so many paranormal young adult books out right now it's hard for each one to be different or stand out. Marilee Brothers succeeds in creating a fun original heroine in Allie. Sarah Bean, The Library Center, Springfield, Missouri A great start to a new series filled romance, paranormal, finding yourself, and family drama which just equals fun. I love how Allie discovers something new about herself, that changes her outlook on life. I'm already looking forward to the next book. http://yabooknerd.blogspot.com/ Jennifer Rummel Head of YA department Otis Library, Norwich, Connecticut
