Introduction
("Shadows of the Mind"
Is a spectacular novel in which a young girl, Kim Tucker, discusses her teenage rape and pregnancy. Kim also a discussion of issues such as living with and around family members with physiological problems specifically Schizophrenia and Alcoholism.
"Shadows of the Mind" is a Novel about my Family's Life. Having grown up the youngest of twelve children I had the opportunity to not only experience three generations. The time line is from the late 1950s to the early 1980.
I had the opportunity of watching my siblings and learning through their life experiences and discuss a lot of what I learned and experienced in "Shadows of the Mind".
Many people come from small families and do not know the inside and outsides of having a large family. In many ways I felt that I had a heads up on life through my siblings' successes and failures. However later in life, I found that his is just not so. Life and experiences can only be learned by doing.
