Introduction

(It is a mystery that has existed since the dawn of time. The remnants of primordial light; compressed into a solitary gem and expelled with man from paradise as punishment for the original sin. It has been possessed by some of the greatest men throughout history, all of whom have reveled in its power. But, that is only part of its story. The past five years have been rough for Gabriel Patrick; recently fired from his academic position at the university, and still reeling at being dumped by the true love of his life. And, dumped not just for any other man, but Gabe's personal and professional mentor--the renowned art historian, Dr. Rudolph Zeffner. But now, Rudy has been murdered and his ex Kevin has shown up unexpectedly, bringing with him a story too outlandish to believe. But, what seems so impossible at first, reveals itself through a series of clues left by Rudy that Gabe and Kevin must now follow. Soon they are consumed by a Transatlantic quest for one of mankind's greatest treasures. But, other factions are also seeking this incredible object, and have already proven that they will kill to possess it. Can Gabe and Kevin find the relic and fulfill the final wishes of the man they both loved, or will they fall to his same fate?
