Serve Authentic Chinese Food & Bring a Biography
by Librarian50 (see profile) 03/15/12
Food: One of our club's members went to a Chinese food store in Middletown, NJ. She brought jugs of iced tea, sweetened and diet, and served each club member fried dumplings, which we ate with the chopsticks she provided, and steamed pork buns. She said that, when she was growing up in NYC, she and her siblings would grab a steamed bun to eat as a snack between school and Chinese school. For dessert, she brought some crumbly Chinese cookies. Another club member brought fortune cookies. Delicious! Biography: I googled Lee, Jennifer 8 and found a biography on wikipedia and autobiographical notes from Ms. Lee's blog. I printed these out to make a double-sided copy. For an added bonus, it turned out that we were holding our discussion on Ms. Lee's birthday, March 15.
