Introduction

For Meri and Alice, moving thousands of miles away has had little effect on their friendship. After all, they can share dreams with each other, so distance has never been an issue. Even better, they can change their dreams to include anything they want, and can even peek into the dreams of others. Their secret world is a private playground; that is, until a large, black bird shows up and begins observing them as their dreams begin to get darker and more unnerving. It soon becomes clear that something ? or someone ? is in there with them.

When discussing this book, it would be ideal to get a bit personal-- we all have dreams and therefore we can all certainly relate to the story in one way or another. Talk about your dreams. Have you ever wondered if there was deeper meaning in yours? Have you ever had the same dream as someone else? Discuss how you relate to the characters and how the situations and principles brought forth in the book can relate to everyday life. Fun finger foods like mini cupcakes, cake pops, or even pigs in a blanket are great for discussing this book!

  "A wonderful read"by Vivienne J. (see profile) 03/22/12

Reading this book was a breeze, not because its language was elementary (which it wasn't), but because I as a reader was immediately captured by Melton's style as he told the original and truly admirable... (read more)
