Introduction
My Name Is Lucy Barton is author Elizabeth Strout's latest bestseller. In 2009, her book, Olive Kitteridge, won the Pulitzer Prize and was turned into a mini-series for HBO starring Oscar winner Frances McDormand.
My Name is Lucy Barton centers around Lucy, her mother and Lucy's abusive childhood which included being locked in a truck with a snake. Also, her father has "The Thing" which is explained later in the book. It made him very difficult to be around.
At the end, the reader might wonder one thing or another entirely.
Also, included in the SUMMARY is a review of the book by a New York Times book critic, the author's thoughts on several subjects (mainly that she wanted to write books) even after she got her law degree. Plus, there's a page with personal information about where she lives and her family life.
