Introduction
(Joyce Waszlewski has two years of college as a theater arts major, the encouragement and help of her grandmother, and a lot of family baggage when she heads to New York City to become an actress. Many years ago her grandmother Muriel and great-aunt Connie had made the same trip from their small town in Maine for the same reasons, but Connie wound up dead and Muriel back home as a housewife. Is history repeating itself? Maybe so because Joyce soon finds herselfafter fleeing down an alley in a thunderstormto be in 1939. And her grandmother receives her as Connie, the troubled, soon-to-go-missing chorine. Is Joyce Connie, doomed to play out the same scene, ending in murder? Or has she really gone back in time, with a chance to save her great-aunts life, to meet her beloved grandmother in her salad days, and oh, to catch Broadways biggest stars in their career-making performances? Or is it all a neurological episode, the random misfiring of synapses with no effect on anyone? And what decisions will Joyce make if her jaunt sixty-eight years back in time turns out to be real?
