(While in school, Brenda befriends a troubled young man named Will. In a small, somewhat conspicuous gesture, she gives him a gift that, unknown to her or anyone else, sends ripples through eternity. She gives him a book of Psalms. Assigned to accompany this book is a very special angel named Bashar-el-Chosen. Chosen adds depth, assurance, and even some whimsy as he ministers to those who possess the small book. For thirty years the book passes through the hands of many, touching them in different ways as some are comforted while others reject. The book-well-worn-finally finds its way back to Will's father, as he learns the hope and comfort his son found long ago in Brenda's gift.
