Introduction
What a mess we've made of the world! Bloody conflicts within countries and between countries abound. Human's inhumanity towards other human beings is as prevalent now as it has ever been in the history of mankind. While incredible advances have been made in all realms of science and technology, have we advanced much as human beings? The answer has to be overwhelmingly - 'No!' It seems the human race is stuck in a time warp, or mindset, that has us entrapped in a straitjacket preventing us from learning from our mistakes and retarding our evolution. Individually, many of us make a mess of our relationships, if we're honest enough to face facts and admit it. We don't seem to understand that holding grievances against others and attacking them as a result, is self-defeating. Why self-defeating? Because holding grievances and attacking add to our personal stockpile of guilt. In our ego-based human psyche, guilt deserves punishment and, in our own peculiar self-defeating way, we subconsciously inflict punishment on ourselves in whatever way that does the most damage. Collectively, we do this as groups, as communities and as countries. Guilt engenders fear; fear provokes attack; attack and retribution lead to more guilt and we find ourselves embroiled in a vicious cycle from which there seems to be no way out. However, consider the possibility we can escape from the mess we've made of the world and of our own lives and that the only way out comes from practising true forgiveness. Forgiveness of others takes away their guilt and frees them from the vicious cycle of guilt, fear, attack and suffering, not only for the 'forgiven', but also for ourselves, the 'forgiver'. Join Hannah Lane in THE ONLY WAY OUT, as she discovers the miraculous power of true forgiveness through a series of life changing experiences and adventures. And how, by practicing forgiveness, she discovers she is able to solve her personal problems and bring happiness and peace into her life, as well as bring powerful and positive healing influences to others around her. However for Hannah, the potential of practicing true forgiveness doesn't end at the personal level. Forgiveness has the power to heal the differences of people, races, religions, ethnic groups and countries in conflict around the globe. Our ways of dealing with differences and conflicts since time immemorial have clearly failed. There must be a better way. Could true forgiveness be this better way? Could true forgiveness lead the way to peace? Is there anything to lose by trying this radical approach? In THE ONLY WAY OUT, Forgiveness - the Path to Peace & Happiness, an adult Hannah Lane continues her journey of self-discovery where she left off in THE POWER, THE MIRACLE AND THE DREAM, A Beginner's Guide to Lasting Happiness. Set in the future, her journey takes her all around the world as well as to the moon and Mars as she follows her dream to be the best photographer she can be and, in doing so, discovers so much more than earthly fame.
