Not an easy book to read but insightful as to how immigrants made their way in America
Thought provoking book as to the treatment of leprosy then and now and the lives of those who had to endure
this lifestyle when infected with the disease
Love Laura Bush but the book was way too detailed
Our group was looking for a light-hearted book as we had been reading some fairly serious literature in the past several months. This book was well written with a romantic and endearing story.
Easy to read. Even though the premise is highly improbable it was nice to read a book that was up-lifting and fun.
Many characters such as the father, the blind daughter, the housekeeper, the soldier boy, the uncle were well developed and you truly got to know them and how they gave of themselves selflessly.
A very suspenseful tale - quite a bit of back and forth with characters and dates -love surprise endings
