My Reviews
Well tied together, good character development, a little long in areas, didn't love the wrap up at end of book
Personally I thought the story a waste of a life... It sounds as though he might have had much to give to those less fortunate... Our club discussion of the book was somewhat brief. However, there were 2 clear sides; those who felt his wandering was wasteful and those who understood his search... I did not like the part of the book where Krakauer sought to equate his life experience to Chris's.
Slow but interesting read, good character development. Cultural insightful.
Great book! Thought provoking and multi layered.
Interesting memoir that makes you appreciate your own family. Could have been half as long as it is unless she added more detail on her teen years.
Did not finish book, too many characters without good background. Boring
Interesting story, slow first half read but gets better. Not alot of issues to provoke discussion
Did not finish book...none of us did:(. Interesting in areas that I can relate to, for example, NYC without people. Lost me when author spent too much time with elephants and animals in Africa...
MANY characters made the read difficult at times but story was interesting and talkable
