My Reviews
The Road by Cormac McCarthy
Dark, Dramatic, Gloomy
The discussion is essential to appreciating the book. The was a difficult book to read because of its somber subject matter. It was one of the more unusual books Ive ever read and through the discussion, I gained more appreciation of the depth of the author's writings.
Waiting for Snow in Havana: Confessions of a Cuban Boy by Carlos Eire
Insightful, Informative, Interesting
Childhood memoirs growing up in pre-Castro Cuba and life after Fidel took overVery interesting style and memoir of a idyllic childhood with many religious symbols. The fear, terror and sadness of life after Castro was powerful.
Runaway by Alice Munro
Book Club Recommended
Interesting, Confusing, Gloomy
RunawayThe genre of short stories was a new one, but intriguing. Some explanation of how short stories are written was helpful.
