The discussion is essential to appreciating the book.

The was a difficult book to read because of its somber subject matter. It was one of the more unusual books Ive ever read and through the discussion, I gained more appreciation of the depth of the author's writings.

Childhood memoirs growing up in pre-Castro Cuba and life after Fidel took over

Very interesting style and memoir of a idyllic childhood with many religious symbols. The fear, terror and sadness of life after Castro was powerful.
