Great story idea that was done well. I think it would be a good discussion book. It's a quick read because you want to know what is going on. It is suspenseful and because of the main character's issues, it's hard to know who to believe.
An edgy fairy tale that keeps your attention throughout. Nearly everyone in our book club enjoyed it, and the discussion was great.
This book was really good and a great discussion book for our club. It is similar in many ways to We Need to Talk About Kevin, but I gave that book 5 stars and this one 4. This one is just a little less compelling, but a great read nonetheless.
This book is one of the reasons I am part of my book club. I would never read it had it not been on our list. It was well worth the read. Although I knew North Korea was bad, I had no idea how bad. It is really important to read books like this for a more in-depth look at a situation than we get from the evening news. I highly recommend this book if you want to be informed and have a fantastic discussion.
Our book club had one of the liveliest discussions in quite some time and this book was not uniformly liked. We had some members who loved it, others who hated it, and most who gave it 3.5 out of 5 stars. Despite that, the discussion was great and for that reason I would recommend it to other book clubs.
