My Reviews
All of our book club enjoyed this book. You wanted to keep reading and not put it down. There are twist and turns that surprise you A father that wasn't involved with his children or grandchildren.
Wonderful story of a family and what they go through and how they worked to overcome things.
Some teary parts, but it also shows some passions of what people can have and how they work at overcoming difficulties and disappointments. I didn't want to put it down..
Now I am reading the second book"" behold a rainbow.
Enjoyed this book. I read the first one before I rea
Our club read this and really enjoyed it. There is one she had written before this called The Sandpiper.
It did have some surprises.
I would suggest reading The Sandpiper first though.
I found this book very interesting and wanted to keep reading and not put it down. Couldn't wait to see what would happen next.
I recommend this to everyone to read it or reread it.
Only 1 out of 10 liked the book.
We fjound it slow reading and not up to the standards of To Kill a Mockingbird..
Our book club mostly enjoyed the book. Couldn't figure out why she was such a loner. Lived on the bare essentials.
Was a little reparative about her mother. Seems she hard a hard time with that. Guess her mother had been her support for many years.
Did have a good ending. She married and had children
I found it to be a book I didn't want to put down.
It showed how a mother had to deal with her child's rejection at school and how she overcame it. She had difficultly making friends because she was a single parent.
It is a must read.
This book had more interest since he was from Okla. and that is where I live.
How he went through all the things he did during his life time is unbelievable.
He made a choice to stay there with his people knowing he would be killed.
It is a wonderful story of a strong and brave man.
I encourage book clubs to read this even if you are of a different faith. It just shows how faithful and devoted he was to helping other.
Our book club read this and everyone loved it. Not being from Oklahoma but living here for a long time I learned so much about the Osage Indians that I never knew. It was awful what they did to them and to think the FBI were not much help. They all seemed to turn a blind eye to all of it to get as much money and rights from them.as they could at any cost.
Thank goodness they did find a way to protect these people and stop their guardians from stealing them blind let alone killing them for their rights.
