Very interesting insight into the prison system and mandatory minimum sentences. I kept waiting for something dramatic to happen but realized that was not the point of this book. I think Piper\\\'s point was to make clear mandatory minimums hurt more than they help. Locking up non-violent criminals for very long terms with no rehabilitation or training on how to be a productive part of society once released was the point as I understood it.
