It is an easy read, but we never really get to know the main characters.They are not fleshed out.
The time frame seems to be off about ten years.
This is a very good book. WE had a wonderful discussion at our book club about this book and its author. Gave me an excellent insight into human nature during stressful times that sounds true to me and what I know about human reactions.
I found this a very humorous and delightful novel with much truth in it. Very readable.
Taught me much more about the civil war than I ever knew before. Made it come alive. worth the time.
It is time that history is written giving out the facts, what really happened rather than what our government wants us to know.
William Faulkner is able to create a picture of what the South was like post civil war.
This is a truly magnificent book. Tolstoy is one of the great writers of all time. It should be required reading for all students.
