My Reviews
Good discussion points. Author writes beautifully with poetry background. Her use of language raises the story above the usual. Interesting characters that aren't what they seem at ginning. Twists in story keep the pace up.
An optimistic post apocalyptic story. Character driven. Very different from usual books we read but good discussion and all but one member enjoyed it.
In spite of low rating, it was one of the longest and best discussions we've ever had.
Stewart uses her research skills as a nonfiction writer to bring three sisters and a pivotal incident in their lives to life.
We saw this author at our library. We usually don't read this genre but we really liked the quality of the writing. It led to a good discussion. Lots of twists and turns. We will read more of Lisa Unger's books.
Extraordinarily important book. Our book club heard Dr Kendi speak today at our library. He is articulate in his speaking and writing and demands one to think about racism.
Book clubs will enjoy both the story and the ensuing discussion about their own choices about the book that matters most.
