My Reviews
While typical non-fiction dry, it was fascinating. I loved how the author tied all the characters together, built it up to a crescendo, and then followed up afterward. Tied it all together. Really well written and interesting subject (that I had seen, but knew nothing about)
Short and sweet, but it's story and subject stay with you for a long time. Very insightful of race relations in the South in the mid-late 1960's
yet in a very kind way.
A thoughtful but easy read. So many levels of relationships and how one can unknowingly affect the lives of so many others. Loved this book
Fun read, great use of words and descriptions. Good reflection of cultural differences and perceptions. Made me want to explore Spain.
Had a hard time putting it down once started.
While not the best written, it is an easy read and was very interesting and informative about life for women in the Middle East even today. I selected "scary" as a description as it again is too timely for the way the world seems to be regressing back to before the "women's lib" movement.
Easy to read psychology of a lot of rural America.
Loved this book. Kind of "old fashioned" writing style, but portrayed wonderfully the feeling of the era, characters and location.
Much better than the first in this series. Are you in the mood? to return to the mood of Mickey Spillane? The glamour and dark side of the late 40s and early 50s? This is it, with a mystery thrown in for fun.
