My Reviews
I grew up in rural Nebraska. My parents would talk about the "orphan train" and how one of the neighbors had actually been on it. This book lets you look at the emotions of the orphans and their feelings of helplessness, hopelessness and estrangement from all they knew. The book connects two unlikely women and even though they are miles apart in age, a common thread runs between their lives and draws them together as friends.
This book had me by the tail feathers in the first chapter. It\\\\\\\'s complex with a convoluted plot. It\\\\\\\'s mysterious, intriguing, suspenseful and has a dark psyopathic thriller. I had listened to the CD and because it skipped in a few spots, I wanted to read it. I just finished it and I feel like reading it again!
