My Reviews
This was a nice change from our usual, more serious books. Was funny and entertaining.
We did the quiz after to see how compatible we were with Don which was an interesting addition to our discussion.
My book club has read several historical fiction books about WW2. I was not looking forward to another one. This one got to me though. I found it addictive and wanted to know what was happening next to the characters. The moral dilemma's made it a great book to discuss.
This book was an easy read and a nice story, but not one of the best, most memorable books we have read. What surprised us was that it lead to some really good discussions concerning a wide variety of topics.
We had our book club meeting last night and the conclusion was that this was a slow, difficult to get into book. The last 50-75 pages were interesting as that wrapped up the story, but it took a long time to get there. The writing was hard to follow at times, and even though there was a glossary of sorts, a lot of the slang words weren't listed. Overall, I would not recommend this book with all the other good books out there.
This is the second book I read by Kate Morton. I like her style of writing. There are a lot of characters and 2 from book club found it confusing, but stick with it. It will be worth with. Good character development and interesting twists that made it a good read.
This book was painful to read. It was like reading the journal of a very boring, pretentious, self absorbed person. His friends were as uninteresting as Nathaniel P. There wasn't one character i liked or cared about. I kept reading hoping there had to be some point to this book. There wasn't.
