My Reviews
No one could finish this book - out of 12 members, only the person recommending the book read it from start to finish. REAL slow moving.
I will be the first to admit that I thought the premise was morbid. I would have missed out on a fabulous read if I had gone with my first instinct. If only I could erase my memory to read it again with the same eargerness and need-to-know that I had the first time....
What sounds like it may be a sing-songy light hearted book actually has some pretty deep themes. When everything comes full circle, you appreciate where this book has taken you.
This is the kind of book to read in between your book club choices. Even for that, I didn't care much for this book. I know that a lot of "suspense" style books have a plot that is maybe a little far-fetched, and we know that gong in and enjoy the ride, but even knowing this, it was really a stretch for me to feel these characters and believe them. I haven't ever read CJ Box before and this book wasn't making me feel like I need to.
I read through this book very quickly and took the emotional ride which left me asking every one I know...Have you read this? I needed to discuss it and I couldn't stop thinking about it. (read it on my own but will absolutely recommend it for my club)
great for a book club discussion - this was a wonderful read - 3 different voices in the first person(as Jodi Picoult sometimes writes)
to make "Gone Girl" a genre. This book was momentarily entertaining but I don't think it is book club material.
I don't want to give away the plot but it was a struggle to finish it.
