Controversial stories. Good character development that inspires discussion.
Inspiring book about efforts being made to fight the oppression of women around the world.
I kept waiting for this book to improve as I have liked other books by Barbara Kingsolver, but this book just never caught my interest. The writing was slow and repetitive. A very boring book.
Interesting book about an interesting woman living in Arizona in the early 1900s. Everyone in our book club loved it. Very well written.
Told in the voice of a 5 year old who has never lived outside of "room", a shed converted into a home for his mother after she was kidnapped. A very creative premise, and there are parts that are riveting and make you look at the world from a different perspective. It's not all about living in the shed. Excellent book club choice.
