My Reviews
This book was one of my all time favorites. It was very different, as far as the storyline. It was very well written and left great things for discussion. Also made me want to take my kids to the circus - I really appreciated the elephants much more! Loved it.
There have only been several books that I would highly recommend. This is one of them. I loved who the narrator was! Very different perspective. I love the way Markus Zusak writes, he really makes you picture the characters, and actually like most, if not all, of them. You feel like you know them. I think this is something everyone should read. I think people forget about the lives that were changed in WWII Germany. Everyone needs to remember.
There are way too many characters in this book. You never form an attachment or relationship to any of them. The whole book is pretty much spent trying to bring them all together, which never really happens. The end of the book seemed like he was just trying to get it over. On the upside, it is an easy summer read, but with little substance. Not much to talk about here.
I really liked this book a lot, and couldn't put it down once I started it. Very well written, has a nice flow to it. It is a great book for discussion!
