My Reviews
The book is interesting but not one of my favorites, it explores a higher class society and lifestyle. Also lots of insight into Truman Capote. Read it accepting that was the period of time and how many in that group and location lived. Everyone has problems no matter what status in life
A very insightful book into the world of crewing in the 1930s. I loved the parallels with natzi Germany and the depression. The book makes you realize how strong and committed these men were to the sport and making something of themselves. We have nothing to complain about with our lives today compared to what they had to overcome?
This is the first book for our book club that I did not finish. The writing and prose is very descriptive and well written. But the subject matter did not hold my attention
